You need the EPA and the DHA from the fish. The other omega-3's 6's etc. aren't the same. Skip the flaxseed etc. You want enough EPA and DHA you don't wanna be grossed out by the taste or get a fishy "repeat" and you don't wanna drink a bunch of unnecessary fat.
This stuff is good because: it has the right concentration of EPA/DHA: 1.3 g/teasp which is high. And it tastes good. Even Nordic Naturals a very respected company has a similar EPA/DHA level but tastes nasty.
Remember these supplements aren't regulated. Go to consumerlabs.com they test the supplements. This wasn't tested but Carlson capsules and cod liver oil were tested and passed so i assume and hope this passes also.
That's all you need to know. If you're 30 or older and you have high blood pressure and cholesterol like everyone else take in at least 2 grams of EPA/DHA a day your arteries will stay clean.

Kids love the taste....My 7 year old son has been taking 4 of these for about a little over a year now. It has really helped with his focus and concentration. You can chew them and they taste like strawberry....no fishy taste. He loves them. I love that they help him. Worth the money and peace of mind. People are so quick to use adhd meds when they should give this a try...I am not a doctor...but it has really helped my son a lot. I would check with the doctor to be sure it is okay. My favorite Coromega product
I've tried all 3 flavors of Coromega and this is my favorite. I don't experience any burps with any of the products although my great nephew does so who knows what's behind that.
As with all Omega 3 products the anti-inflamation benefits of Coromega build up in the system. My arthritis and angina have both been positively affected by Omega 3 fatty acids. This is just the most convenient way for me to get my daily dose.

Sensitive Tummys Look No FurtherI've always had a sensitivity to diet pills and energy enhancing products. I can't even take too many regular vitamins at one time. This pack is great. As long as you don't take them on an empty stomach (I take them with a protein shake in the morning) they will be good to you. I don't get the shakes or sickly. They don't make you crash like an energy drink. You should read the other reviews on GNC's site. Would be great if not for the misleading advertising
The description and the label both state that this is for 180 500 mg softgels. In fact they are only 250 mg soft gels and there is a suggested serving size of 2 softgels to get your 500mgs. I feel like this is false advertising as I received only half the amount that I expected...I expected 180 500 mg softgels as indicated on both front of bottle and amazon product description. I received 90 servings not 180. Just be forwarned so when you do the math you aren't as irritated as I was!! Tomorrow I will be calling Nordic Naturals to complain. Otherwise the product is great...strawberry aftertaste is pleasant.

Good Product Good PriceI got this because a friend told me that it would help me heal better/faster after some fractures and surgery to my leg and I think that it contributed to my recovery and when I used the oil from the gelcaps directly on cuts/scars - it was amazing how quickly they healed over! I keep using it because my dentist says that she can see an improvement in my gums. And it has omega 3's too. My cholesterol levels are always good when the dr tests them so there's enough "evidence" for me to know that taking cod liver oil daily will help my overall health. I use this brand because the cod liver oil from Norway & Iceland is the best quality.
If you're wondering whether or not to try it - I'd suggest that you take it for a few months before your next cholesterol check and see if your numbers improve. Also anyone with concerns about their teeth & gums would do well to take it -- and if you aren't concerned about your gums remember that the bacteria in your mouth can cause/inflame issues with the heart - so why take the chance?

My children take their liver oil without complaint!I am a mother of five and I have recently discovered fish oil to be very good for children's health. I use to hear stories by my mother whose own mother forced her to take her cod liver oil daily but it was this horrible experience because it tasted so bad. My children didn't like the sound of ingesting a fish's liver oil but when they tasted it they said it barely had any taste except that of lemons. They take their daily doses without complaining. I take it too and other than having a slight after-taste that lingers in my throat I recommend the Carlson brand.

Chalk up one anecdotal success story.I am a physician. I was on lipitor for about 4 years until I found out it was giving me rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown). The manufacturers of statins state that this is a rare side effect and I even counselled my patients that this is about a 1/200 incidence. Well after delving into the research a bit more it turns out that pretty much everyone taking statins has some degree of muscle pathology on biopsy with the majority being subclinical...but not insignificant. Being a work-out nut this could not be tolerated.
I stopped the Lipitor and went on a low fat diet (20% fat) with Mega Red. To be fair I am also taking a proprietary 3-6-9 omega oil blend as well (Udo's Blend) although it is not clear that this affects cholesterol levels and makes no claims to. I have been on the Mega Red for about 2 months and the low fat diet for about 2 weeks and got my levels rechecked. Total cholesterol went from 240 (pre-lipitor) to 179. LDL from 160 to 119 and HDL from 35 to 40. All as good or better than I got on 20 mg of Lipitor.
Now I no longer have to worry about muscle breakdown and my LFT's are normal for the first time in 4 years. As an added bonus I can get this locally for about $27 for a 4-month supply (with coupon and buy-1-get-1 deals) which is about 1/4 the cost of Lipitor. Well this is one anecdotal success story so take it for what it's worth. I have put a lot of energy into exercizing and going low fat as well so under those circumstances I can say that it seems to work for me andI am very happy with the results.
